What to bring on Retreat!
Spiritual Items:

  • Mala beads if you have them
  • Prayer shawl if you have one
  • Spiritual journal and pen (can just be an exercise book if you don’t have a special journal)
  • Floor cushion if you prefer to sit on the floor are provided by the venue
  • Chair cover if you like to put your own cover on your seat
  • Bottle of isocol or similar for receiving or giving sweeps

The Vedanta - No Shoes Policy:
The Vedanta operates a no-shoes policy indoors (except when inside the gym) to encourage an environment of total relaxation and positivity. Please feel free to bring a pair of indoor slippers if you like, and slippers are also available to purchase if you’ve forgotten yours. They have provided shoes for use within the public toilets, please make sure you leave the shoes there when finished.

Personal items:

  • Yoga mat and stretch band or stretchy belt (for your own practice if you wish)
  • Own coffee cup/mug plus hot drink container with a lid if bringing into the temple as no open drink containers will be allowed into the temple
  • Tissues for your room
  • Sunglasses
  • Umbrella or wet weather coat/hat, in case of rain particularly while on an outing
  • Comfortable walking clothing and walking shoes/boots - could be wet
  • Suitable comfortable clothing for temple. For example, long pants rather than shorts, appropriate tops not too low
  • Layered clothing as the evenings may be cool
  • Warm jacket, woolly scarves, woolly hat and extra jumpers as the days may be cool
  • Ipod, power cord (if you want music in your room)
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Toiletries
  • Alarm clock if you need it
  • Any medications you require
  • Camera
  • Laptop and charger if you wish - wireless internet only available in reception/dining area
  • Face mask and Lateral Flow tests (self administered covid tests) in case of signs of ill health. If you have any signs of illness please be considerate of the well-being of others and self manage.

Food:

  • Any nibbles you may want - these should not contain egg

Vegetarian Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner is provided.  Please note:  vegetarian includes no eggs.  If you intend bringing any nibbles please ensure they do not have eggs in them.
