Spiritual Intensive Retreat with Shakti Durga at Swamiji's Ashram, India
18 - 29 July, 2024
The Divine awakening into Light that Never Ends
Mahaavatar Babaji Meditation Centre, India 2024
18 - 29 July, 2024
On this retreat you will:
This retreat will begin at Daramshala airport on Thursday 18 July, where we will be picked up at 1pm to travel to the ashram. We will then spend 11 nights, 12 days from 18-29 July in Palampur, at the ashram of Maha Avatar Babaji, which is the home of Yogiraj Amar Jyoti.
The beautiful, serene ashram will be full of devotees flowing in for Guru Poornima on Sunday 21 July.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon we will also zoom a daily program to those in Australia and around the world.
Sunrise is at 5.30 am and sunset around 6.50 PM. Weather will be summery and we can expect some rain during the month of July.
The ashram day starts at dawn with a half hour fire puja followed by time in the silent Babaji meditation space. Then devotees either sit in the grounds for a while communing with nature, or head down to breakfast.
After breakfast we will have our program, catching up with ourselves with all the Divine feasting that goes on.
After lunch one can rest, walk, journal, spend time in the meditation spaces or hang out with interesting people from around the world.
Friday 19, Sat 20 and Sun 21 the focus will be on the living lineage of Omkara, celebrating Guru Poornima afterwards on the Sunday with the rest of the Ashram. There will be music and celebrations going on into the night if past years serve as a guide.
From Monday 22 things will shift gears, after the full moon we will still observe the dawn fire puja, and time in Babaji meditation space. We will likely then do our own program after breakfast, enabling the afternoon time to be free for resting or seva, excursions and the programs that are there for us. We will have two full days of silence, and during those days we will attend the fire puja morning and evening, have our meals as usual and expand into the inner Cosmic potential.
The retreat will conclude on Monday 29 July after breakfast. There will be car transport to Dharmasala airport for your homeward journey.
Twas like going to a heaven dimension and taking a love filled break from daily life. Such an opportunity to appreciate those special moments in time which are unforgettable. Relishing time spent ... feeling the love, kindness and gentleness of the group. I loved every moment of the retreat and even the momentary processing parts dissolved into feeling uplifted and filled with Divine energy, making it an exceptional experience. All my love and appreciation to those who made it possible.

What's Included
NOTE: This retreat requires participants to be physically able to walk up stairs as there are no accommodation options on the ground floor and no lifts. There is also an uphill walk to the meditation hall - the road up to the yagashala is all pot holed and broken due to lots of trucks/construction work, so we suggest you bring walking poles/sticks. If you are not physically able to cope with these conditions it would not be ease and grace to book this retreat, and we would request you to consider other retreats on offer.
The retreat will commence at 1.00pm on Thursday 18 July at Dharamsala Airport (also known as Kangra Airport) where we will be picked up and driven to the Ashram. The trip takes about 1.5 to 2 hrs, if you get travel sickness it’s a good idea to take some medication or precautions before we leave. The retreat ends with breakfast on Monday 29 July, after which you will be transferred to Dharamsala Airport for your flight back to Delhi.
Shakti Durga will also host a pre-retreat briefing session for retreat participants on Thursday June 27 at 7pm where you can ask all your questions about the retreat, the ashram and India.
It is a compulsory requirement that all participants organise insurance to cover costs should the need arise and to ensure our retreat admin has a copy of that insurance prior to the retreat commence date. The insurance document should be emailed to retreats@shaktidurga.com with the subject 'Travel Insurance India 2024.'
